Sammy come back
I need to see you
Come plunk your head down
right on my lap
and give me those big brown beautiful eyes
Lets go to the park
and through the trails
you racing up ahead
but never out of sight
Lets go to the beach
and splash in the water
but only up to your ankles
Lets go for a long walk
so we get our exercise
and visit the neighbors and friends
we meet along the way
Lets go pick up the girls
and do our errands
youre always ready
to jump in the car
And give me that puppy dog face
one more time
when I leave for work
and you know you have to stay home
Go chase those squirrels
you never catch and cant figure
out how they get up that tree
Come be with me again
and be my shadow,
the sun isnt shining now
And when its late
you tip your bed down
and then come jump up on mine
And we comfort each other
and be together,
until tomorrow, until our next walk
