To my dear friend Juanita & Honda
by Darcy cotterman
I met Juanita from Seymour Indiana this year. I was trying to find a home for my little girl Miniature Pinscher named Baby. I had already rescued Baby from starvation and my husband lost his job and we just couldn't afford another dog, so my groomer said she would help me find a home for her. I took Baby over to the groomers where I first met Juanita. She had a darling miniature pinscher named Sugar Dawn. Juanita was looking for a play mate for her minpin. She feel in love with Baby immediately and took her home with her. We stayed in touch on the telephone because I wanted Baby to get used to Juanita and Sugar Dawn. Baby and Sugar Dawn are both what you call Alpha. But they love each other very much. Juanita takes excellent care of her. Then one day Juanita was in Walmart with her friend and her friend rant into a woman she knew who had a miniature pinscher. Juanita overheard her say she couldn't stand the dog. Juanita went home and kept thinking about what she heard and it worked on her for about a week. She just knew this little dog was not being taken care of. So she called her friend and asked her to get in touch with the woman and see if she wanted to sell the minpin or give it away since she she didn't like it. Thank God, Juanita did this. The woman said Juanita could have the dog. They had paid about $700.00 for the dog but Juanita could have her if she wanted her. Juanita took this little dog into her home which she had never ever seen or knew nothing about her what so ever. When she got this little dog the dog could not walk, it had been kept in a basement for years. Her toe nails were over grown and had been curled under. Juanita took Honda to the vet immediately and was given medication for the dog. Juanita was so proud of Honda. After a week or so the dog was able to walk, not very well but she was able to walk. This dog got along excellent with Baby and Sugar Dawn. She has only had this little dog for about 2 months. Then Honda started having seizures this past Friday and Juanita took her to the vet and they put her on more medication but to no avail, today October 4th 2004 Juanita had to make the decision to put Honda out of her misery and let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. I know deep down in my heart that this little dog is waiting for this woman who showed her love and compassion for the last few months of her precious life. Juanita you are a wonderful, wonderful person and God sent you to Walmart that day.
