this is a story that has taken me along time to write.zoo zoo left me on october 27th 2004.zoo zoo and his sisters were strays.i took a four of them in.they were all precious.this made 10 that i have.when zoo was 6 he started haveing medical problems.he would get blocked,they would have to catherize him,to get him flushed out.my poor big guy,all 21 pounds of him.he tried so hard.this whent on for a year and a half.i went to 4 different doctors,trying one that could help him.finally i found one,they bassicaly gave him a sex change.the surgrey was rough,again he tried so hard,for me.he was running a fever and bleeding,his shots had ran out.the vets didn't want to give him his shots,because of the fever.finally he started getting better,i made the apt. to get his shots.the vet said i could let him out for small periods of time,if i went out with him,and watched him.he wanted out so bad one day,i said ok,and went out with him.we were outside,i was filling my bird feeders,he was right there in the backyard with me,when out of nowhere a stray came up and started a fight with him.zoo was bit several times.i dont know where the stray came from,i have never seen him before.i took him to the vets,got him fixed up.finally i could take him for his shots.about six months later,he started acting funny,high fever again,slept all the time,was not feeling good at all.the vets said it was a upper respitory infection.couldn't get the fever down.he just kept getting worse.x rays showed nothing,did blood test,zoo tested positive for feline lukemia and feline aids.the stray!!!!my poor big guy,he fought so hard for almost 2 years to just be here.now i had to make the very hard dessicion,i could not bring him home,he could infect my other 8.it didn't matter,before i could make that dessicion,his fever went out of control,he passed before i could get there.to this day i feel so guilty.i'm so sorry zoo zoo,i didn't know the stray was out there.you fought so hard!!!6 is to young to leave.this happened almost 4 months ago.i am crying as i type.take care of buffy,zoo.i know she was there to greet you.make sure you tell her your still the boss.love you two and miss you more than i can say,there are no words to describe it.love,mom
