Memories of Bernie
Bernie was special before I even met him. I dreamt of him first. A little black fur ball with white furry paws. The puppy in my dreams appeared in real life a month later and I took him home. It was love at first sight for both of us. He loved to follow me around everywhere. He was smart as a whip and was trained in no time.

Bernie was full of energy and loved to run and play all day long. And he loved to make long jumps onto the sofa! He would start his leap so far away and soar in the air before landing right on the sofa!

Bernie was a great companion who loved to go shopping, run errands, go on hikes, walks, swim, travel on an airplane... if I was doing it - so was he. We were inseparable. Working from home gave us all day together too.

Bernie was strong and resilient having diabetes for 7 yrs before he died, requiring 2 injections a day, he lost both eyes to the disease, he went deaf a year a half before he passed, he developed gum overgrowth making it more difficult to eat regular food so we switched him to mush. He never complained. I believe he lived for me as much as I lived for him. I will miss this extraordinary little guy for the rest of my life. I love you Bernie.

2/23/23 One month since I lost you. I enjoyed you so much and I can't believe I haven't have you in my life for a whole month. I light a candle for both of your feedings everyday. You have brought me so much joy. I don't know how to replace it. I love you so much. ♥️ I miss you so much it hurts.
