Thank you for your 14 years of love, loyalty and friendship. You were a lot of laughs and a joy to have in our lives. We are very blessed to have known you. Saying goodbye is never easy, so we will say see you soon Chunky. Run free beautiful boy. Annie, Chloe, Kenny and Louie are all waiting for you on the other side. May you rest peacefully and gracefully on the beautiful wings of an angel. Until we meet again we will miss you each day. The memories we shared will leave paw prints on our hearts forever. Harold was adopted at two years old from a no kill volunteer organization. He developed hip dysplasia and muscle atrophy after being hit by a car. His owners could not afford the cost of rehab so they turned him over to the volunteer group. He was in a foster home in Rochester until we brought him to his forever home.
Harold never liked most men and had some food aggression issues when we adopted him. We did our best to work through these issues with him. He adored his human brother Joe. Harold loved car rides and bread. You could not take a slice out without him coming over for a slice. He loved sitting next to the ladies that sat on the floor to pet him. As the years caught up with harold his legs got worse. He developed the worst arthritis his vet had ever seen and a mass was discovered on his spleen. He gained quite a bit of weight and needed assistance getting up and walking. His paws and legs began swelling. Four pain pills a day weren't helping him. He would pant heavily and pace throughout the day. Amid all his health issues, we made the painful decision to end his suffering. That decision is never easy but we knew it was the right thing for Harold.
