Your quirkiness made you fit perfectly into our family. We loved how you carried your bowl everywhere, like it was your emotional support, and how you methodically removed the stuffing from each of your babies. When it was time to go outside, they always went with you. You needed to be close to us, fur on skin was your peace.

You had the run of the house and greeted the kids every time they came home from college or for a visit. You joined us on college visits, where you were adored by everyone. You could sit for hours looking outside, planning your strategy to catch squirrels and bunnies--though we know you would only lick them and try to play, because that was who you were.

You loved Leo, and he misses you so much, especially jumping up to attack your back or neck as you strutted by unsuspectingly. Thank you for letting us bring you home that first day and for trusting us to guide you on your final journey. We miss you more than words can say. We see and hear you everywhere, but we know you are in a better place.

We haven't felt this kind of pain since losing Abbey, who we're sure greeted you with her big grin and wagging tail. Kanga, you were the best protector, and we know you will continue to watch over us and our home.

Goodbye, our fur baby, our penguin dog, our Kangerzzz. We are forever your family, and you will live in our hearts for all eternity.
