Memories of Layla
Layla was such a very very special force in all of our lives. That special dog meant so much to not only our family but to so many of our friends.
She was adopted by Liz and I when we started dating over 16 years ago! In those first few years she went everywhere with LIz and I. That meant she got to meet everyone of our family and friends. So in a sense Layla made a paw print on everyone's soul and heart. She was truly one of a kind! Did not care who you were she always found a way to warm up to you. When Liz and I or any of you were down she would always find you to cheer you up. She also never had an enemy! She always seemed a way to make friends with all dogs.
She loved playing frisbee! Liz and I when we first got her would throw frisbee for her in the Tennis courts at the apartments near Concord Mills.
She absolutely loved swimming!! If we were near water that dog was in it! If you were swimming so was she. She would go make sure you were okay no matter how far you swam. Ask Neal and Glenn Goodnight. She used to chase them as far as they would swim. We would take her hiking and not even have to worry about a leash. River walking was always a blast.
Personal note, Stinky changed my life, well and Liz too. A lot of you know I was at a crossroads and I met Liz then we got Layla. So at that point in my life understood what it meant to have a family of my own and think about others outside my head. When Liz and I raised her it helped us grow and know we loved each other as a family!
So to summarize my thoughts above is that we all loved that dog. She was sooooo special and we will all miss her forever. My OG baby... she was a Life Changer and inspiration to us all.
With all my love Layla I love you so much!!!! I will miss you and you will be in my heart, mind, and soul forever!
XOXOXO
