Memories of Mabelline
Oh Sweet Mabes, (Mabey Babes) as daddy would call you,

If I would have known Wednesday night 12/3/14 was going to be the last night I pet you and said good night with your treat, I would have made it extra special. You were fine that night until I woke up the next day and you were on the kitchen floor disoriented and wouldn't move. I immediately knew what was wrong with you. Daddy and I took you to see Dr. Ramieri at mommy's 2nd job and he knew what was wrong just by examining you but did an ultrasound to confirm. You had a tumor on the spleen that burst and you were bleeding inside. You were so pale, cold, and very uncomfortable. Daddy and I were devastated that we had to let you go and mommy is still a mess. This came out of nowhere with no warning signs. This also happened to your Uncle Parker 7 years ago almost to the day.

I saw you on petfinder.com and you were the cutest puppy from Homewards Rescue in Maryland. I remember the day I drove to PA to pick you up. You were such a sweet good girl. You never fought with your brothers and sisters or stole any of their food. You would give your stuff to them. You mothered Myron when we brought him home and he loved you for that. When you were happy, you would bark and do 'The Mable Dance' as I called it shaking your butt. Moby really misses you. He is looking for you all the time and it's heartbreaking. You two where thick as thieves. You were taken from us way too young. I hope Buster met you at the bridge and you're having fun together. Run free sweet girl until we see you again. I am so very sorry and all your brothers, sisters, daddy, and I love you very much and we will miss you.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, and All The Furry Kids

12/4/15 - One (1) year ago today we lost you sweet girl. It's been another rough year. We lost your sister Lexy exactly two weeks later from the same thing. I hope you greeted her, Uncle Huckles, Spunky, and Pop-Pop. I hope Buster and the rest of the gang greeted you and that you are all together, happy and having fun. The house is crazy as ever. Moby has bonded with Zinnia and we took in a few more fur kids. Losing each of you has been so very hard. Look down on us every now and then and know we will be together again some day. We love you very much sweet girl.

12/4/16 Two (2) years ago this day we lost you. We have been so lucky and have not lost a furkid in over 2 years and 2 months. Uncle Harry is sick with congestive heart failure. We have been trying to help him. Oh dear sweet Mabes, you were the sweetest girl! Life is so unfair sometimes. I hope you and the rest of the crew are all together and happy. The house is still crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I just want to give all my furkids a wonderful life and loving home. Be happy and we will always love you sweet girl!

12/4/17 - Three (3) years ago today we had to let you go. I hope you met Boots and Dexter at the Bridge. ZZ is almost just like you. She is so sweet and sometimes reminds me of you. I miss every single one of you. Each of you are so special to mommy. One day we will all be together again. Just be happy, have fun, and enjoy your beautiful home with your brothers and sisters. Love you very much!

Mommy, Daddy, and All The Furry Kids

12/4/18 - Four (4) years ago today we had to let you go to the bridge. That was such an awful day for mommy and daddy. You were fine the night before and the next morning you were just lying there on the kitchen floor so uncomfortable. We had no warning signs at all. I hope you met brother Moby and Scooter at the bridge. Each of you has a special place in mommy and daddy's hearts. Zinnia is just like you. So very sweet and kind. Brother Ollie isn't do so well and Noel has some issues. We are trying our best to help them. I just wish we could have helped you my precious sweet girl. Merry Christmas at the bridge to all of you! Mommy and daddy love all of you very much! Time is going so fast anymore and we will be together again before we know it.

Love, Mommy, Daddy, and all your furry Brothers and Sisters

12/5/19 - Five (5) years ago yesterday we had to send you to the bridge. I can't believe it's been that long. I hope your greeted Ollie, Ernie, Uncle Harry, and Toby. It's been a rough last year losing so many babies. Uncle Harry had the same thing you and Lexy had, except we did have a warning with him. We chose not to do surgery on him because of his age and heart issue. Please keep everyone in line at the bridge. Please have everyone look down on us every now and then. We love and miss every single one of you. Merry Christmas at the bridge, sweet girl!

Love, Mommy, Daddy, and all your furry Brothers and Sisters

12/5/20 - Six (6) years yesterday we had to let you go and we were not ready for that. We couldn't put you through a rough surgery with no guarantees. I hope you understand that. I hope you greeted Myron, Boots, and Noel at the bridge. Myron and Noel were such a shock, and it hurt(s) so bad. I'm sure Noel and Ollie can see now the beautiful home where you now live. The house is still crazy with Fred and Boomer. They are so bad as well as Jasmine. This time of year is rough, because we lost so many of you including nanny. I feel so bad about Noel. I wish I would have showed her more attention. I sometimes lost my patience with her but didn't mean it. Please tell her that and that I love her and miss her as well as every single one of you. I was hoping for some kind of sign from Noel but I haven't gotten anything yet. Please, one of you show mommy a sign that you are happy and know how much I love and miss every single one of you. I surely could use that right now. In the meantime, enjoy, have fun, look down at us every now and then. We will see you one day soon. We love all of you. Merry Christmas!

Love, Mommy, Daddy, and all your furry Brothers and Sisters

12/4/21 - Seven (7) years ago today we helped you to the bridge. I can't believe it's been that long. I hope you greeted Sierra, Hailey, and Bogey at the bridge. We are down to only five cats. Cheyanne had to have an eye removed. Boomer and Fred are as crazy as ever. Poor Jazzy has Lymphoma but has been doing pretty well. I hope we have her from some time yet. I just took Jesse to see Santa today. She was not thrilled. She's a lil spit fire. There are just too many of you at the bridge. We still have the three (3) black dogs singing Christmas thingy. It reminds me of you, Dexter, Lexy, Buster, and Chloe every time I play it as well as the reindeer. Things are so different now. Please know we love and miss every single one of you, and we are keeping all your memories alive with a candle burning and the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again, please all of you come running. We love you all! Merry Christmas!

Love, Mommy, Daddy, and all your furry brothers and sisters

12/4/22 - Eight (8) years ago this morning we had to let you go. I have a candle burning right now for you, sweet girl. I hope you greeted Baxter in June and Charlie November 18th. We are down to 4 cats now and it's so weird. Cheyanne is 20 years and 2-1/2 months and a spit fire like Jesse. Jesse scared us a few times and so did Jasmine. I thank God for them every day. Boomer and Sophie are as nuts as ever. Boomer, Fred, and Jasmine come in the living room every night with me. I wish I would have done that when you were with us as well as Lexy, Buster, and Chloe. Please know we love and miss you so much! Christmas is just not the same anymore without the original crew. Please, all of you come running to mommy when it's her time. Be happy, enjoy, and take care of everyone. We love and miss every singe one of you. Merry Christmas at The Bridge.

Love, Mommy, Daddy, and all your furry brothers and sisters

12/4/24 - Ten (10) years ago we had to let you go. I' sorry I missed last year as daddy was sick. I hope you greeted Cheyanne 4/14/23, Walter 7/3/23, Jazzy 9/27/23, Jesse 1/25/24 and Daddy 8/14/24. It's been awful. It's so hard without daddy. I hope you all jumped on him giving him kisses and knocking him over. The house is crazy with Louie, Sophie, and Boomer. Giggy has cancer, and the lump has grown back, but he is still a lil spit-fire at 13-1/2 years old. Mya is his shadow. Poor ZZ is almost completely deaf and has dementia. She just turned 13, and she paces and paces. She is a complete different dog now. We are down to 2 cats, Holly and Stanley. He has gotten so skinny. I hope he is ok. I did not put up our big tree and not even the pet stockings. Mommy just couldn't do it. Your crew was the best ever, and I miss you all so much. Christmas will never be the same again. I will see you all again some day. Mommy loves each and every one of you.

Love,

Mommy, ZZ, Fred, Boomer, Grit-Grat, Mya, Louie, Sophie, Holly, and Stanley
