Maggie May, you were such a special dog. We miss your excited greetings when we came home. When we lived in Texas, your curiosity about the backyard was fascinating to us. You followed the fence line every morning to make sure everything was alright. When the coyotes would howl, you would bark back at them. You would also lie out in the grass in 100+ degrees and enjoy the warmth. For a black dog that was unusual. We also thought a small dog, like yourself, would get picked up by the big birds flying around. You loved it outside. When we made the move to Baltimore, everything was different. No more backyard, just a porch. You liked that I put plants out at your level, with dirt. Every time we went on the porch, your muzzle would be full of dirt, and we would have to wash it off. You were the star jumper, spinner, and barker for dinner. |
