I came home one evening in the middle of October, 2011 and I was startled as for a split second! I saw my beautiful deceased black kitty Stardust sitting on the porch rug in front of the door. You looked so much like him in every way!!!! I did not know what to make of you as I have seen you around the apartment complex and thought you had a loving home. Every night that I came home you sat on the porch rug saying to me I am not leaving so feed me! Once I did that there was no looking back! For the next 2 months you would show up in the morning and at night to be fed right outside the front door and in the process do a short meet and greet with my other 2 kitties Sabrina and Sebastian. You were not aggressive, and or mean just very laid back kitty that just wanted some attention. Despite disliking the neighbors next door I am very grateful they kept that garage door open each night as that is where you went to sleep and stay safe. Shortly before Christmas you actually ran into my apartment and sat on the couch like saying to me when can I permanently stay here! I will never forget that night as when you bolted into the apartment Sabrina and Sebastian looked stunned however did not do anything. Also rolling over on your back on the sidewalk outside and showing off helped seal the deal as well! On February 4th, 2012 I permanently took you into my home and you have been the most loving devoted rescue kitty I have ever had. You took the responsibility of taking care of the younger two kitties while I was gone all day at work and would stop the occasional spats between Sebastian and Sabrina. This is how you earned the name "The Commish". After a bad day at work I would pet you on the living room floor and say humans need to live like Merlin. Nothing ever bothered you and you rolled with whatever came your way. I believe this is why you made it to 16 years old! I know you are in very good company now with your sister Sabrina and Rainbow Ridge has added TWO EXCEPTIONAL KITTIES of mine to their residency! Merlin Thank You for coming into my life 8 years ago and being such a great cat! Rest in Peace Mama Loves You! Please also visit Sabrina. |
