2/9/2016 We sent you on to Paradise meadow today so you'll be young and healthy again. Pressy, your adoptive mommy, and Ausie, your doggie brother and playmate, are meeting you at Paradise meadows gate to greet you. You will always live in Grandma and Grandpa's hearts and memories, beloved little kitty girl...you have left furever pawprints on our hearts.

Grandpa will be back to write many stories about you but just now Grandpa is too sad at your passing to write much about you. Love you, little girl.

Our memories of you begin with how you came to us as a baby. Grandpa's friend who is foreman of a commercial tree/brush cutting crew found you and your two brothers in a blackberry thicket where his crew was working. There was no sign of your mommy but he didn't want to take your family away from mommy so he had his wife Mary bring food and water for your kitty family. He put down the food and water for you and left but went back each day for two days to leave more food and water and check on you and your brothers. Your mommy never came back...she was likely out looking for food for her babies and something happened to her so she could not return. After several days, Grandpa's friend took you three kittens home. Your two brothers quickly found good homes with other friends. Our friend's wife Mary (Grandpa's co-worker) kept asking Grandpa to take the little girl kitty finally threatening to take the kitten to the shelter if Grandpa didn't take her...Mary knew Grandpa wouldn't let that happen! Grandpa picked you up at Mary's house just before Thanksgiving in 2001 and brought you home. Mary told Grandpa her kids had named you "Pepper" because of your "salt and pepper" tabby coloring so we got a kitten with a name! Our little old gray lady kitty Pressy immediately adopted you as her own little girl kitty and took care of you as her baby. We immediately took you to our long-time veterinarian (and friend) Randy for a complete checkup and any immunizations or care you needed. Randy estimated you were about 10-12 weeks old so your "birthday" became August 2001.

Now we come to how you came to be called "Monster". You were a rambunctious little kitten always into everything but your favorite pastime was to hide and watch for a "victim" at which time you would charge out of hiding to "kitten" (swats and hugs only...no teeth or claws) attack the victim's ankles then scamper back into hiding. After you ambushed Grandpa several times this way, Grandpa started calling you a little monster and warning others to watch out for the "kitty attack monster". Your sneaky ambushes and "attacks" were so cute and funny to watch! From that time on, you became known to everyone as "Monster"...the only time we used your real name Pepper was for visits to the veterinarian! In fact, I doubt few people including your human brothers and sisters even can remember your "real" name of Pepper...you were always just "Monster" to us all. Visitors I'm sure wondered about us calling such a sweet laid back kitty as you "Monster" and were perhaps upset by us using that name but the name Monster was earned and lovingly given you by us. Grandma and Grandpa truly miss our little Monster kitty and carry her forever in our hearts and treasure the love and wonderful memories she gave us.
