Memories of Sierra
Dear Sweet Sierra,

We woke up this morning and you were gone. I kind of had a feeling you were going to do that. You had left us on your terms to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Actually, tonight, Dr. Michelle was going to come to the house to help you with that, but you were not going to have it that way.

Mommy and Daddy took you in when your original mommy could no longer keep you and your sister Cheyanne. You loved lying in your bed either on the big chair or on the cat tower looking out the window 24/7. That was your special spot. Cheyanne is actually right by my side now talking as I type this, like she knew what I was doing and wanted to say hi. We've had you for so many years and hope you were happy here with us. You never liked your picture being taken, so I really don't have a good one of you. It's like you would deliberately look away or pull a face when I tried to take a picture. It was always so hard to tell you and your sister apart except when you were next to each other.

Last year, you were diagnosed with renal failure. Nothing can be done to help with that. You were strong and a fighter. You lived a very long life and I hope it was a content and happy one. We love you very much and will miss you terribly. Run free, sweet girl, bask on the warm sun, drink from crystal streams, you can chase mice, but please don't hurt them. I hope all you furry brothers and sisters greeted you at the bridge. We will see you again some day. Until then, enjoy your new beautiful home.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy and all your furry brothers/sisters

3/27/22 - Dear sweet Sierra, One (1) year ago on St. Patty's Day we lost you. Sorry this is so late, but mommy has been a bit stressed. Today is your sister, Cheyanne's 20th birthday. She is a lil spitfire like you were. She's always yelling at me to feed her. We are down to five cats now. I hope you greeted Hailey and Bogey at the bridge and are showing them the ropes. It's so strange to have only five kitties. The house is as crazy as ever. Walter is still a bully. I hope you are all together, being nice to each other, and enjoying your beautiful home. Mommy and daddy love and miss every single one of you!

Love,

Mommy, Daddy and all your furry brothers/sisters

3/22/25 - Dear Sierra, Four (4) years on the 17th, St. Patty's Day we lost you. We also lost Simba on St. Patty's Day but a few years before you. Now we just lost Zinnia (ZZ) on the 16th. I hope you greeted her at the Bridge as well as Stanley 1/13/25, Daddy 8/14/24, Jesse 1/25/24, Jazzy 9/27/23, Walter, 7/3/23, and your twin sister Cheyanne 4/14/23.It has been rough. Holly is the only kitty left. She is 18 and was daddy's nurse when he was sick. It's so weird to have one cat. I'm use to a houseful of dogs and cats. Giggy has issues, I hope I don't lose him any time soon. He's had cancer and two surgeries for it but it came back both times. He's a lil spit fire though like you were, and that's what keeps you going. Mommy's life has completely changed. It's weird, this new normal for me. God has given me so much strength through it all. I owe it ALL to HIM. I was just out back at the kitty cemetery yesterday trying to clean it up a bit. There are so many kitties buried back there. I have a few memorials back there.I love and miss every single one of you. You have each taken a piece of my heart. I don't have much of one left. I will see you all soon. Please come running, knock me over, and give me lots of kisses. I love you. sweet girl.

Love,

Mommy, Holly, Fred, Boomer, Grit-Grat, Mya, Sophie, and Louie
