Memories of Stanley
Dear Stanley (Stan the Man / Stan Man)

I adopted you and your brother Charlie from Lakeland Animal Haven on 4/10/10. I wanted to have an orange kitty, and I got two. I couldn't leave either of you behind. One month later, Huckleberry Hound attacked you and your eye popped out. I was horrified. We rushed you to the Emergency Hospital, and the veterinarian saved your eye but don't think you were able to see out of it. You looked cross-eyed all the time, but it was so cute. You didn't let that bother you.

You and your brother were thick as thieves. Always together. You tolerated the other cats in the house too. You loved lying under the Christmas tree every year, but I did not put it up this year because I was too sad about losing daddy. One year, it was you or Charlie that got in the tree. We never had a kitty that did that before.

You seemed ok when we lost your brother Charlie on 11/18/22. You got tight with Walter then we lost him 7/3/23. You and Holly were ok with each other. You would wack each other a lot. You fought hard till the end. God let you stay through the Christmas season, and I'm grateful for that and you passed on your terms in your own home.

Now you're all together again. I hope your furry brothers and sisters as well as daddy greeted you at the bridge. Some day I will be there with all of you. I want you all to come running, knock me over, and give me kisses. I love and miss every single one of you. Each one of you has taken a piece of my heart. I don't have much of a heart left as there are many of you there. Bask in the sun, drink from crystal streams, don't hurt any mice, and be a good boy. Mommy loves you!

Love,

Mommy, Holly, Fred, Boomer, ZZ, Mya, Grit-Grat, Sophie and Louie

1/13/26 - Oh my sweet handsome cross-eyed Stan-Man, One (1) year today mommy lost you. As I was reading this, I had typed you passed here in your own home on your own terms, and I feel awful, as I don't remember. Mommy has been through so much over the past two years. Losing Jesse and Daddy in 2024 then you, Giggy, ZZ, and Holly in 2025. I hope you greeted ZZ 3/16/25, Giggy 10/17/25, and Holly 12/30/25. Poor Holly went blind at the end. It was so sad. This is the first time since mommy was 5 years old that I haven't had a cat. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'd like to get one or two, but you know how crazy this house is with the dogs. We'll see. Please know, I'm not replacing any of you if I do adopt one or two. I hope you're all happy and together. Things here on earth are ramping up and getting bad. I think Jesus is coming soon. I actually hope so. Nothing matters here anymore except Fred, Boomer, Mya, Sophie, and Louie. Also, of course, family members too. I know Jesus wants as many people to get to know him as possible before he comes. I'm trying my best. Until then, I'm just trying not to worry and have Faith in Jesus, and let him lead the way. I will see you all soon. I love and miss every single one of you, and you've each taken a piece of my heart that I don't have much left.

Love,

Mommy, Fred, Boomer, Mya, Sophie, and Louie
