Memories of Tripp
Tripp was born April 8, 2005 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. When I picked Tripp from his litter he sat in my lap for 3 hours. A few weeks later I took Tripp to his new home in Washington, DC. That night he cried a little bit. I slept on the kitchen floor with him and held his paw. (I was a new Mom, he would sleep in my bed once he was potty trained). We were in love. I remember the first days, I held him and walked to the Georgetown Waterfront. Complete bliss. Very early Tripp brought immediate joy to each person he met.
On his first airplane trip, the ticket agent insisted on holding him. She knocked on the door of her supervisor and told her she had to see Tripp. Tripp hit his paws against her keyboard, the ticket agent asked Tripp if he was trying to get an upgrade. After a few minutes, the ticket agent handed Tripp back to me and told me she now had to deal with the increasing impatient air passengers behind me. On another plane trip I put Tripp on the ground as I was placing my belongings to go through security, Tripp ran through the metal detector! As I had not passed through TSA security, I couldn't get him. Tripp kept running. A TSA agent saw and got Tripp and carried him back. The TSA agent was laughing and talking to Tripp.
States Tripp visited: Utah, Colorado, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida.
Beaches: Cape Cod, Hamptons, Palm Beach, Rehobath.

Hotels: Westin, Omni
Hotel lobbies: Jefferson

My loyal Tripp. The accident. We were both hit by the car. Tripp was trapped underneath. His leash trapped under the tire. The car had to be lifted to get you out. I lay unconscious. The 1st thing I asked after I was told what happened was if you were alive. As I discovered a new world with TBI, you were there. On bad brain days you would sleep at the top of my head. During the day, if you knew it wasn't going to be a good day you sat by the door not wanting me to leave. I had you and that was all that mattered.
