Widget was the best little doggie you could ever hope to meet. Every day, he heard me tell him, "You are the best boy ever." He was loving, devoted, intelligent, and obedient, among many other wonderful qualities. He wanted to meet everyone, and they, in turn, loved him for his cuteness and his gentlemanly behavior. He loved being outside. He loved to lie in the sunshine, run with the wind flapping his ears, bark at bigger dogs, and hop like a rabbit through the grass. His face lit up and he wagged his tail at the mention of going for a walk. As his health declined, sometimes he wanted to be carried, and he loved that, too. He loved hot dogs, chicken strips, watching the neighbors from the window, collecting his reward after his shot, and snoozing next to Mama in the recliner. He hated even having his face cleaned but he endured many medical treatments. He was a brave little man while facing many vet visits, daily shots, pills, blindness, eyedrops, and surgery. To know Widget was to love him. The happiness, laughter, and love he brought will live on forever in our hearts and memories. He will always be the best boy ever. |
