For Sasha
by Tanya

The unspoken words between man
and his best friend so relevant now.
A decision to be made.
Hearts to be broken.
Tears to fall freely.
This day forthcoming.
This day so dreaded.

To weak to walk you are carried to the car.
Just a short drive away
and with God you will rest.
Our time together is coming to a close.
As they lay your head down and announce you have passed,
I gently caress and kiss your face.
I reminisce of the sixteen years of love
and loyalty you gave our family.
Your big beautiful brown eyes,
your ever wagging tail
and sweet disposition will never be forgotten.

We leave you forever.
You leave us with memories.
So blessed we were to have you.
So painful to let go.
I can't believe you're gone, Sasha.
I can't believe you're gone.
