Its time for you to leave us,
Thats what the doctor said.
I just cannot handle that,
In my heart youll never be dead.
I cant imagine even one day,
Without your soft, soft fur,
My heart cant bear the thought
Of not hearing your sweet purr.
You will always have a place
Inside my heart and soul.
I promise never to forget you,
Not even when Im old.
How I long to hold you,
To keep you close to me.
And I want to say Im sorry
For the times when I was mean.
You gave us joy and happiness,
Each day that you were here.
My days will never be the same,
Without you to hold near.
Yesterday, it seems, you came,
Placing paw prints on our hearts.
I always knew you were special,
From the very start.
I just wanted you to know,
Our love will never end.
But, I guess its time to say good-bye,
My precious furry friend.
