"Poni's in heaven now with lots of bones and pizza and treats and sun for her belly and lots and lots of beds and couches for her to sleep on and walks in the park and other dogs to play with, and Mandy too." according to my son. Only Lamponi, our brindle great dane bitch, was invited by the dog angels so Sean probably won't see her for a long time but he can talk to her any time, and we do.
Poni gave us a tree to plan in the front, a japanese maple, raspberry colored (Lamponi means raspberry) with a darker trunk, just like her. Little birds were hopping in it as soon as we planted it. She was 7, yes 7, I don't know how we could've got that wrong until now. She had a long walk and got to sleep on the couch Tuesday night. Had a perfect Wednesday, got lots of treats, explored around the house and yard, napped with little birds hopping around her and next to her in the sun and the shade and the sun and the shade...wherever she shifted, got lots and lots of kisses and hugs and sang "Oklahoma" with me. I stayed home to spend the day with her and Doug came home around 1:30. She was so good all night and day and a princess at the vet. She fell asleep in our arms at 4:50.
I'm gonna miss my Poni dog.
