Sammy

Sammy was my first cat.. a beautiful Maine coon I got when he was a month old. I was not interested in cats. I felt I was a confirmed dog lover. A friend had a cat who had kittens and the friend was trying to find homes for them. I told her I didnt want a cat but she insisted I take this one home. well, that night, this little one made himself comfortable on my neck and went to sleep. That was it, I fell in love. I named him Sammy, and he grew to be 18 pounds of love. He had a such a quiet purr for a big cat, I had to feel him to see if he was purring. In Jan. 1997, he was losing weight and not eating..and the vet found lumps in his intestine, the dreaded lymphoma. within a month, my darling Sammy was gone. How I miss that guy..I keep expecting to see him and it is a year later. I don't think I will ever get over the loss. The pain lessened somewhat, but never leaves. He is buried in my yard, flowers on his grave. Sammy,my love, I will never forget you **tears**
