Samson---my furbaby
by Tammy Adkins
Our story starts out on Dec. 14,2002 when we walked into a petstore. We were there to look at pups for our kids and as soon as we saw this little black furbaby, we knew he was the right one. We asked to see him and I remember him untying our shoes. We laughed and hugged him and paid for him right then and there. He then had a home with us. He gave us almost a year of pure love and never asked for much, only to be loved and that he was.He was and always wil be here with us in our hearts. We decided on the name Samson. Samson was a mismarked black Cocker Spaniel. On Tuesday 11-18-03 3 of my 4 kids and I were out in the front yard with Samson when a U.P.S truck went by and hit my precious pup.The horror of it all had me nailed to the ground for a few minutes and then I knew I had to get to him and see if he was alright. He was not, sadly.I had to pick up my lifeless pup and get him of the road so no one else could hit him.He never hurt anyone and NEVER deserved to be hurt like this.I keep asking "why?" but no answers come.My husband burried my pup on the hill so that we can go to his grave anytime we want to talk to him. I know that he is still here with us, but it doens't make it any easier to deal with. My story is dedicated to his memory and the unconditional love that Samson gave us. May he rest in peace.I know we will see him again someday. In loving memory of Samson Blackshear Adkins July 23,2002--Nov. 18,2003
