Monday I Will Say Goodbye
Monday I will say goodbye to one so sweet
I know I'll cry.
Desperately I'll long to hold her
And awaken her deep sleep.
But she is gone,
Though I live on,
I'll carry her in my heart.
Her warm embrace I yearn so much,
A smile,
That certain look in her eye.
That little tongue
Those chicken legs
A treasure in my life
Now gone.
Nothing so precious is meant to last.
A love so pure
So dear to me
She captured my soul!
But I live on
And she does not,
Though memories will survive...
