For You, Hoot Dog
by Jan Arrigo
To say Hoot was a bad dog Is really not that wrong And to deal with her for 3 years Just seemed to be so long She surely didnt listen When I would give commands The day that I adopted her She bit my mothers hand She barked all day and half the night At stuff that wasnt there And she also farted constantly And never seemed to care. Shed tear apart the grocery bags And vomit on my floors She even peed inside the house In front of her doggy door But there were the years she saved my life When all my hope was gone Just having her right by my side Was my reason to go on To say Hoot was a good dog There are those whod disagree And to live with her for just 3 years Went by too fast for me But now shes at The Rainbow Bridge And since were physically apart I will miss her every day With each beat of my heart Until we meet again GirlfriendI love you Hoot! 8/23/03
