FOR THE LOVE OF SPARKEY
by Denis Arseneault
FOR THE LOVE OF SPARKEY In 1985 Sparkey came into my life, he was a stray. Well, before I get carried away I did rescue work of Dogs & Cats for many years. In 1985 I found a stray Blue Healer that was about 3 to 4 Years of age. He was living at a rest stop along the highway. I went there every day for a week to bring food to him. He had been living out of the trash cans and I knew if I fed him and got his trust I could help him and try to place him. Well after a week the bond was one that was just ment to be, and I felt very lucky to have him in my life. Sparky, as those of you that have blue Healers know, was one who had the awareness and the devotion along with the wondering of what is next. I did have my hands lovengly full for many years. Late in his life Sparkey had arthritis so bad he was ready to let go, in 1997 Sparkey passed away. I was told many years ago, after a while the devotion of a pet is so strong that the pet will hold on for you and the kindest thing to do for your pet when it is time is to let them go, so I did. A few years later I ran across a story that went something like this and I added to it; A RAINBOW BRIDGE Don't cry for me I am still here. I still care, I still need you to feel the warmth we shared and the days we had it was great and thanks for the time we had you looked in my eyes and saw and touched my soul as I know I touched yours. On the road life gives us, we know their will be a time. We travel down that road we know that there is a place for a rainbow and I will call that place the rainbow bridge for all the animals that cross there and are the bridge keepers of our soul I will run and play and in the sunny part of the day I will remember to save that place at the rainbow bridge for you my friend and some day we will cross that bridge to gether as our soul sores. The colors of the sun will shine through and no more sorrow will be, and one more wise soul will be in the part of the healing for the next to cross the rainbow bridge. For all the forgotten animals they to will cross the rainbow bridge and shine in all hearts to see the love they have to share, and they to will be fulfilled. So don't cry for me you still have time to help another forgotten animal make the journey to the rainbow bridge ----In Memory Of Sparkey ---- In wrighting this I hope this remind people you have stopped in passing and pat your pet on the head, did you change the drinking water, did you feed today, has the pet a clean place to sleep in warmth . Are you sure it is fitting, is it really home? Just stop and look into your pets eyes and see if you find the rainbow you both share. If not make your pet a promises and keep it . Today is a new beginning and start to building the bridge in your soul and watch it sore. There is no greater love than one that is shared and you are a part of. Remember each time you see a stray dog or cat that there is a need, and that animal has a bridge to give someone and only the small and large parts we put forward to them will they to have a chance to sore. So even if you never tried to help a stray, just for Christmas this year help one even if it is a dog biscuit. Stop and see if you can find the owner of a stray get involved in helping animals that really need it who knows you may just discover who you really are. Merry Christmas to all the animals
