The tears have not stopped falling since the day that I lost you. Hopefully the happy memories will be enough to get me through. The summer days we spent together in the park, the evenings when you lay snuggled up next to me in the dark, the trips we took together in the car, the memories of the walks we took, some near and some far. Your sparkling eyes and wagging tail that greeted me at day's end. You were a loyal, trusted companion, a true and special friend. One day the sparkle in your eyes was gone and I had to make a choice. To selfishly keep you here by my side, or to hear your voice. You looked at me with your big brown pleading eyes, begging me to stop the suffering and with dignity, let you die. On the day I let you go, it completely broke my heart. But I knew you were a borrowed angel right from the very start. Although our time together seemed so brief here on this Earth, I knew GOD must need you in Heaven to do some important work. One day I know we will see each other again. Until then, farewell to you my very special friend.
