My Baby Mighty Jimi
by Laura Bakken
This is for Jimi, We had obtained Jimi from a very nice family who just didn't have enough time for him, and through their big hearts he found his way to ours. Jimi (Mighty Jimi, his registered name) was an 10 month old, 145lb, apricot, English Mastiff. He was the best dog I have ever had and there will never ever be another like him. Jimi died yesterday at the vet while coming out of anesthesia, where he was there to be neutered. The vet said that he was fine he went to lunch, he held his head up, and when he came back from lunch our baby was gone. There is no explanation that we can think of why he had left us, he just was gone. I didn't find out until I came home from work and my fiance had given me the bad news. I have never felt such a loss as I do now. While I am writing this tears are streaming down my face, just the though of him makes my heart ache. Such a good baby, never bad, always there to listen and give kisses. Always trying to get up close to our cats, and always trying to steal the chewy away from his friend Molly(our other dog). He loved going for rides in the car, playing with the kids, and oh yes going to PetsMart to pick out treats. His birthday was this past weekend and we made sure we took him out and bought him special treats and a new collar. Little did we know that in just a few days our precious baby would be sent waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. This is so hard and I feel so empty without him. We loved him so very very much. Jimi where you are now I hope you are happy and someday when you see a redhead running towards you, you know it is me wanting to give you long awaited hugs and kisses and then we are ready to cross the Rainbow bridge. I love you Jimi Forever.
