Wait for Me
For Sadie, my dearest friend.
I know that you are with me still, I saw you here today...
For even though you had to leave, you're never far away.
I'll see you in the summer, as I walk along the road....
Your shining eyes, your wagging tail, will ease my heavy load.
I'll see you in the autumn, as the leaves fall from the tree...
Your shining coat, my dearest friend, is prettier to me.
I'll see you in the winter, as the snow begins to fall,
Your blanket snug across my legs, the warmest of them all.
I'll see you in the springtime, when the flowers are in bloom,
And I'll hear your pitter-patter when you walk into my room.
And even though I can't reach out and touch your face today,
I'll come to you, please wait for me, and in my arms you'll stay.
You'll hear my voice and feel my touch, together we will be,
We'll meet again, I promise you.....
just wait awhile for me.-
