Ben
by Brian Bitzer
Dear Ben, How are you my dear friend? In my dreams I see you and me, I see us side by side again. Oh how I yearn to talk with you, Face to face, eye to eye. I miss your smile, I miss your face, It has not been the same Since you left! You brightened my day, You freed my soul, You warmed my heart. I believe you were sent to me From heaven, To help me, To guide me, To love me, To give me someone to talk to, To tell all my secrets to. Your photograph is placed in front of me, As I write while I cry. Only to stare at you and sigh, Ben I know you are in heaven now, I know you can hear my cry, I hope I make it where you are, Maybe then we can go for a walk In the park again. I never had a brother, But I never really needed one with you, Ben you were my brother! My flesh and blood, When you felt pain, I felt pain. When you smiled, I smiled. When you left, Part of me left with you. Everyone misses you, There was no heart you could not tame. Hate turned to love, Sadness turned to happiness, Frowns turned to smiles. From your unconditional love, (2) Loyalty, And… Grace. Sent from heaven to heal wounded hearts, Your touch was as gentle as silk caressing my skin. I felt so secure with you next to me, Everything you stood for was special, Everything you did was special! Pets are pets, Dogs are dogs, Big Deal! Some may say, Well you Ben were the finest dog I have ever seen, A miniature collie that had the heart of lassie, Ben you were a Big Deal! Big enough That May 7th Is your day, And in my dreams, In my thoughts, You will always stay! Written On: 5/27/2000 - Ben's Birthday is May 7th
