My Friend Kitty
by Doris Ann Bridgehouse
Kitty lies upon my bed. She doesn't move too much and time has made her body a shadow of what it used to be. Through the months I watch her spirit disappear then come back with every snore. When she's awake she no longer greets me at the door. Today, she passed away. I cried. I miss her so. Its hard to live without her quiet promises or hear her sweet hello. I know if she were with me, just what she would say. Stop making such a fuss. Life is full of changes. Be grateful we had us.
