Unfinished, as is my love
by Salli Camphouse
I gaze at the spot where you lay for so many years; Memories of who you were to me explode and I am unable to hold back my tears. You've been my friend, my companion, my confidant for just short of 20 years. Your pain is now gone, but mine will go on. Is it the loss of my dearest friend that I grieve, or of time gone by. All of the good times, all of the bad times, you were there by my side, unconditionally, unwaveringly - I never thought you'd die. You were my past, you saw me through who I am today. Now you've sent me all alone on my way.
