My best friend
by Christina Capps
When daddy brought you home 10 years ago it was the most wonderful thing. I had never had a dog before and it seemed really neat. You were always wanting to play even when no one else did. You were always so smart but sometimes destructive. Well maybe not you, but that tail of yours did more damage then anything I've ever seen. As time went by, even though you was getting older nothing seemed to change. You were still playful as ever and never seemed to get sick of running around or palying with everyone. When we got stinky, it seemed like he brought out more life in you. If we wasn't there to play, he always was. up until about a week ago you were healthy as ever, or so we thought. Maybe we just thought that you would live forever but I guess thats not how God intended it to be. Me and daddy took you to the hospital to see why your stomach was so swollen. The doctor told us that you had a enlarged heart and and you had fluid on your stomach. He gave us medicine to give you and said to bring you back in a couple of weeks to see if they had worked. We all knew something was wrong. You wasn't eating, heck you wouldn't even go outside to use the bathroom. We didn't know that 2 days later the most terrible thing in the world would happen. You had a seizure in the back yard. So daddy took you to a different animal hospital. She found a tumor on your splene. Surgery would cost alot but you were so worth it. When the doctor cut you open to remove the tumor, you had tons of little tumors everywhere. He said there was nothing he could do and if he went ahead and put you to sleep then, you wouldn't have any pain at all. So thats how you left us. Sorry I wasn't there. The last person you seen was Gina, thats mommy to you.I am gonna miss you so much. You were like my best friend. There when no one else was. Always listening to my problems and licking away my tears. I love you s much bandit. You weren't only my best friend, but my brother. R.I.P. January 8, 1992 -August 5, 2002
