A friend of my directed me to rainbow bridge when my 15-year-old torty
disappeared in July. I was just devistated. c
I was very lucky, 3 days before our departure for Florida (a full month
after her disappearance), Ethel came back -- very thin and frightened. I
will never know what happened to her, but I am very happy to have her back,
for a while, until she crosses the rainbow bridge.
I was very sure I would never have another cat again after Ethel, and I've
had cats all my life...sometimes as many as six, but Ethel is so special.
After reading your story about Fifi, I know I'll probably get another cat
someday. Your web page really helped.
On the lighter side, after she was gone for 3+ weeks, I got rid of my cat
carrier because I wasn't ever going to have another cat. I ended up having
to take her to the vet in one of my Mother-in-law's old bird cages. She was
not very happy in there and was angrily biting at the side of the cage.
When my long-time vet walked through the office, he paused to say..."okay,
Mary, don't tell me....identity crisis, right?"
I had to borrow a softsided airline carrier and Ethel rode in the plane
cabin on the way to Florida with my new husband and me. Ed is learning all
about living with a cat. At 45, he has never been around cats before and is
slightly allergic. He has to wash his hands after he pets her, and we can't
let her in the bedroom or his eyes get very irritated. He built her a
two-story cat condo which we are now carpeting. Ethel is enjoying Florida.
