Friday was a beautiful day, the rain had stopped and the sun was shining! It was a rainbow day! When I came out the front door at work for lunch, there was a cute blond puppy sitting there. "Are you lost?", I asked. He cocked his head to the side and wagged his tail. I really thought not much of it, and began walking to my car. As I walked through the maze of cars to get to mine, the puppy trotted towards the building. Much to my surprise, when I arrived at my car, he was sitting there next to the car door, waiting for me. "I'm sorry", I said, "but I have some errands to run, and you can't go. If you're still here at quitting time, I'll take you home with me, ok?" I ran my errands, hoping the little puppy would still be there when I returned, but alas, was not. Then, at quitting time, I looked all over, but could not find him. I looked on the road all the way home to see if I could find him, but he must have made it back home. When I came to work Monday, I saw him on the side of the road. "Oh puppy!", I cried, "Now you're safe and warm and happy. I couldn't have given you a better home than the one you have now, eternally."
.....But the next time I see a puppy, he's getting an earthly home for just a little while, at least.
