You came into our lives a stray,
uninvited but welcome just the same. We weren't even sure if you would
become part of our family until you worked your magic ways. We called
you "kitty", not wanting to become attached to the beautiful
kitten that we planned to find a good home for. We called you "Murphy",
once we new your only home would be with us. Each and every day you
never failed to bring joy to our lives. You were brave and loving in the
face of Max your labrador brother. You were a renegade seeking out the
wild jungle of the great outdoors. Why would you ever bring a snake
home? You were the perfect face peeking through the window shades as we
left and came home each day. You were the attitude that said "Ok
now that I can stay, these are my rules." How you met your fate we
can only wonder. The kindness of a neighbor brought you back to us. Now
all that remains are the many memories of a renegade cat who changed our
lives for the better, and will be loved forever. If there is a bridge to
cross, then cross it now. I realize your impatience. Don't try to bully
your way around, your tender side will get you further. Whenever I look
to the clouds I'll see your face peeking through. Waiting for your
family to come home.
