PILOT
It was my privilege to love him
my most loyal friend.
He stayed by my side
until time had to end.
More years spent together
than most relationships last.
He was my tomorrow, today,
and my past.
My grief overwhelms me
and pain racks to the core.
No less for that of a child
that one never bore.
So God if you hear me
please let my heart mend.
He was Pilot my cat and
my most loyal friend.
