Your Last Battle
by Brooke DelGiudice
If my pain should make me weak and keep me from my sleep I hope you'll do what needs to be done For this battle cannot be won We spent our years I helped to dry your tears But nothing gold can stay My body is tired For this battle cannot be won So do not shed but another tear Do not make me sad I will always be near To comfort your fear But this battle cannot be won Do not walk with a heavy heart for you have done no wrong My time has come My days here are done I am still with you This battle cannot be won
