DUCHESS
The sun turned its eyes away
The light was just too bright.
It hid in shame as if to say,
"It might as well be night."
And what eclipse did occur
With no moon up in the sky?
It was my darling Duchess
And the sparkle in her eye.
It was her spirit that outshone
The sun's brighest rays.
It was pure joy that lit the world
as she romps and plays.
It was a light so pure and true
The sun had to hide in shame.
Light and love so pure exists
And Duchess is her name.
