I'll always remember the way he looked the first time I saw him.
I had come to the humane shelter for a kitten, but he was so beautiful
I changed my mind and took him home instead. It wasn't long before I realized
that something bad had happened to him early in his life; something that scarred him forever.
He loved me completely, but he was absolutely terrified of everyone else.
My friends called him my imaginary cat, because they were never able to even catch a
glimpse of him. His vet called him the cat from hell. He wasn't always the easiest cat to live with
but he was always my best and truest friend. He never let me down. The one thing I could always count on was him meeting me at the
door at the end of every day. Even near the end, when he was old and tired he always managed to greet me.
I'll never forget the first time I went home knowing that he
wouldn't be there. I stood there for the longest time, just not able to face his absence.
I'll always miss him, but I know that he's sleeping peacefully now...just waiting and watching for me,
so that he can meet me at the door when I come home.
