Wilbur's Love
by Cleora Graham
If Wilbur could have wrote what he felt for you, I think these words below are perhaps the ones he’d do… I know I was just a pig, But I felt your love for me, Now, I have to go, God has a plan, you see. We may not understand, As we see it bit by bit, But praise the Lord above, That I was part of it! I thank you that you cared And gave me room to stay, For the shelter, the food, the drink, Then a nice warm bed of hay. You were sunshine in my day With love you could not hide, You smiled and rubbed my tummy, And set down by my side. No, I didn’t do a lot, Just mostly ate and slept, But I know the day I left, You oh, so dearly wept. God cared for me through you And I wanted you to know, He’ll bless you for all you did, But He says I need go. So, dry your tearful eyes, But, thank you for your sorrow, Then ask with open heart, What God needs tomorrow. Memories are true treasures, Yes, God designed them too, And He did it all because… He has such love for you. But make the thoughts the happy, And joyful times we knew, The times we spent together, Me, the Lord, and you. So, please remember me, With my dirty, bristly hair, Just dream the Rainbow Bridge, And I’ll be standing there. R. Graham - 1999
