My Guardian Angel
by Tammy Hackley
Mommy tells me that you are my Guardian Angel. She says you watch and see to make sure I don't get hurt, when her and daddy can't be with me. I hear her talk about you with other humans, but she rarely mentions, to me, your name. I can see by pictures around the house, that we look like twins, but mommy always says we're not the same. I sometimes see tears come from her eyes as she talks about you. She speaks of you fondly, but regrets there wasn't more that she could do. I love to play with Aunt Cara's dog, Codie, and Aunt Chrissy's dog, Chestnut, too. They look around when they here your name. They tell me that they know you are away, but they still like to look for you. Codie and Chestnut share many stories from the short time you three use to romp and play. They both moped around, saddened by your shortened stay. I have so much fun chasing and barking at Sox, Buddy, Tomazina, and Sambo, but I don't think they do. I hear them say that they thought that they were safe - I guess you use to chase them, too.I can tell mom and dad were very sad when they had to say good-bye, but from what I hear, I am glad to have you as my Guardian Angel in the sky.
