Tigger: We love and miss you.
by Karen Hall
We saved Tigger from the city pound 3 years and 8 months ago. She was 4 weeks old, dark striped, and so small she fit in the palm of my hand. She soon grew to be a beautiful adult cat who touched myself, husband and daughter in her very special ways. She loved to be danced with, fight with our daughter, and sit on my husband's shoulder of a morning while he tied his tie for work. She taught all of us so very much. She was taken from us on May 29, 1999 on our daughter's 16th birthday. I will never forget the thump of her being hit or her scream. It is forever etched in my mind. Her back was broken, there was nothing we could do but talk to her in a gentle voice and keep a loving hand on her til she passed. She was, is, and always will be my baby. My heart aches for her and at times it is hard to even breathe. There was such a huge void in our lives after her death that we have since gotten two new kittens. One is a yellow tom, and the other is a 4 week old female, dark stripes, and so small she fits in the palm of my hand. I know in my heart that Tigger is pleased. I love you Tig and you will live forever in our hearts.
