Scarlet
by Diane Huggins
I will Miss you Scarlet There is a special story about Scarlet, she was given to me by my cousin Roberta. Roberta and I were victims most of our life by our parents who didn't speak, we wanted to be together and couldn't. We were always close in heart no matter the situation. Roberta finally got to come to my house for a visit and with her was her little poodles she was raising. She came and placed in my hand a little red poodle as a gift of love. Scarlet fit in my pocket at the time and I loved her dearly, Scarlet went every where I went and was my little baby. I cherished her so much, for one she was a special gift of the heart from my cousin who I have loved all my life like a sister. This is truely a sad day for me, Scarlet was going down in health everyday and got weaker and weaker. Last night I wrapped her in her blanket and I held her and cried and petted her little head and told her to go to sleep. She finally did and she died the way she came to me in my arms. I will miss her so bad and I want to say thank you to my cousin Roberta for giving me the most special gift she could have ever given me, My little dog that loved me for who I am, she didn't care what I looked like or that I am white or some other color, She loved me for me. Scarlet I will always cherish you in my memory and I am putting you to rest here At Rainbows Bridge with your other buddy Skeeter You brightened his life when he faced his surgeries and helped me get through the rough times with him.
