My Dear Old Friend
by Ron Hyatt
My Dear Old Friend Hello old friend come walk with me, It's important we take the time, Lets visit the same old places, Lets share what's on our minds. I know our tomorrows are fewer, So lets talk of yesterday, Lets remember the fun we have shared, Lets say what we need to say. Too often words left unsaid, Are words we need so much to hear, Words that express our true feelings, Simple, yet so sincere. Like when I say to you I love you, When I tell you there is no doubt, My heart will be so empty, On the day I'll be without, The comfort of knowing you are here, Always ready and always free, With your feelings and your devotion, With the love you share with me. Come my old and trusted friend, Lets walk while we still can, Should I cry then please forgive me, I think you understand. Though it's true you cannot truly speak, Your feelings are in your eyes, Thank you for all the kindness there, For letting me realize. How blessed I am to know you, For having the time to spend, Loving caring and sharing, Life with you my dear old friend. Ron Hyatt 2002
