My baby Prissy
by Stefanie Jackson
I remember when I took my son to pick out a kitten. We had first pick out of the whole litter. My son picked out a calico and my husband pick out a black one. I remember walking into our friends garage and hearing this hissing noise. I called my husband over to get the last cat down that was still in the box. I still remember how he cursed because she(Prissy) scrach him good. I knew then that I wanted her. But to make sure she wanted me, we put her on the ground to see if she showed any interest in us. The first thing she did was meow at me and curl up inbetween my legs. She was my cat. My first ever pet. She would sleep next to my head all night when I had my two surgeries. Even when I had the flu she would sleep with me. She would tell me when she was hungry or when she wanted me to pet her. But today I had to have her put to sleep. She was attacked by a dog and he almost killed her. I didn't want to do it. I was being selfish. When I handed her over to the vet, I burst into tears. She was and is still my baby. And I will love her forever. At least now I know she is not in pain and I will see her again.
