Today I sent my puppy Lighting to the Rainbow Bridge. She contacted the Canine Parvovirus earlier this month but with all the love and care (plus IV's from the Vet's office). She survived this ordeal but she was still underweight. She came back to take walks with my other dogs in the field behind our house. On Saturday Oct.21st she became sick and weak. She did not want to be held or play anymore. She would eat all of the time but would not put on any weight. Today when I got home from work she was in a coma. Her eyes were rolled back and her gums were white. I held her outside in the sun for almost an hour her heartbeat was becoming faint but she was breathing very hard. I was waiting for that last gasp but it was not comming. I prayed to God to take her for her body was already gone. I called the Vet's office to put her to sleep. She was so small that they had to adminster the shot into her heart. They did an autopsy on her and found that she had died of salmanela and shock to her body. She was only 4 months old but will always live in my heart. GOOD BYE LIGHTING I LOVE YOU!! Some animals come into our lives and quickly go... Some animals become friends and stay awhile...leaving beautiful footprints in our hearts...and we are never quite the same because we have made a good friends!!
