Dear Father above in Heaven, We lived in a haven with thee, A safe and caring playground, With flowers, sun and trees. But one day You did ponder that your children down below, Needed more guardian angels, And told us we must go. You gave us all sweet kisses,And told us you would be Forever watching over us, And keep us close to thee. So down to earth we traveled, With nothing but a prayer, That You would be our Shepherd, And show us that You care. But Father, something seems so wrong, Was this the way you planned? That we would suffer here on earth, Not knowing loving hands? Some of us were lucky, This I must admit, But most of us were cast aside, Into a deep dark pit. They put us in our families cars, And take us to this place, With tiny little holes for air, It's filthy with disgrace. We're shoved into these boxes, With others crammed inside, Some are barely living, Some already died. We have no food or water, No air to breathe in here, It's dark and hot and dirty, Our hearts are filled with fear. Because we are shaped differently, They think we feel no pain, They beat us and abuse us, but we cannot complain. For Father, when you sent us, A voice You did not give, We can't say "please don't hurt me," But you taught us to forgive. Just as you forgive them Lord, For the evil that they do, And some day You will take them home, To be in Heaven with You. It isn't like our garden, In Heaven where we played, And romped in golden sunlight, Where no one ever strayed. You told us they would love us, And we would always be, Companions and Protectors, To the ones so dear to thee. But Father it's not working, These children you adore, Concider us a burden, They don't want us anymore. So father please release us, And take us home with Thee, We need your loving presence, And our garden where we're free. We promise to be very good, And never cause you pain, For we too are your children, We need You just the same.
