Bye Ruby
by Rosalie Kearns
Ruby, a Scarlet Chested Parakeet, died yesterday trying to lay her first egg. After an autopsy, our Vet, Dr. Horner told us that the egg was binding and misshapen and that is what killed her. Ruby was mate of "Ace" the beautiful red, green and turquoise parakeet. Ruby was always a little "nervous nellie" probably because she had cataracts and was almost blind, but Ace always protected her and comforted her. They have been together as a breeding pair since they were very young. Ace is upset looking for his mate, and we are sorry to see our little friend go. Our other birds - Bijou, Casper, Mouse, Buddha, Bugsy and Corsair, all sense the loss as we do. Bye, Ruby & off to birdie heaven. Love, your mom & dad, Patty & Dale
