Penny was an 8yr old dalmation who was surrendered to our shelter. she wasn't good with children, and was protective. The only people who were ever interested always had kids or just didn't have the right home for her. Penney and I always went for car rides when I would go to pick up lunch for the staff, we once had a sleepover at my house (even though I can't have dogs where I live). I would take her for the day on my days off and we would go to the beach or just drive around, she loved going places with me and I thought she was just the best girl ever. At night when I would bring her back to the shelter she would cry and howl when I would put her back in her kennel, it broke my heart. If only I lived in a house where I could have a dog again, I would have taken her in a heartbeat. I was so angry at the owners for bringing her in she also had a previous home prior to that who I was even angrier at and then the breeder they got her from I was the most angry at for bringing her into this overcrowded world. Anyway after about a month of being at the shelter she started to get more agressive with people she didnt know and would show her teeth, I never saw this because she loved me and always behaved when I was around. So her day came and we went outside to play ball and just be pet, then we went downstairs to the room where we sat patiently as the blue liquid took effect, and I cried. I will always remember "Pen Pen" the sweet girl who went to rainbow bridge without a home, when I get there Penny you'll finally have a permanent home. I love you Pen, and I am so sorry. I'll never forget you.
