I had purchased a gourmet cheesecake for dessert to have one evening. My wife didn't have to work one day so she got it out and put the box on the kitchen counter to thaw out. My wife went into our den to work on the computer for an hour or so. After an hour or so she heard some noise in the kitchen and went out to the kitchen to see what was going on. She couldn't believe what she saw. Her cat Leo and my cat Casper were both on top of the kitchen counter and had found a way to open the box of cheesecake. Casper was using his paw to surgically cut out some cheesecake and was licking it off his paw a portion at a time. Leo, my wife's orange tabby cat had stuck his whole face in the cheesecake and had covered his entire face with cheesecake trying to eat as much as he could. Our tourtise shell Manx cat Boone was on the floor waiting for the scraps from the other two cats...cleaning up whatever cheesecake fell on the floor. My wife told me about this and we both laughed for a long time. It is a memory of my cat Casper I will always cherish. I miss my lil' buddy Casper so much. He died on 11/7/02 of haemobartonella and another unknown cause.
