Never Knew Lonely
by Pat & Frank LeBlanc
We never knew what lonely was until that summer day We took our Blackie to the vet and had him put to sleep. It wasn't what we wanted but we had to think of him, Then all we did when we came home was think of him and weep. We see him everywhere we look, on tables and the chairs And every little blanket is covered with his hairs. He's outside in the bushes and under all the trees Is there anything to help us replace the lonely...Please? His little brother Tabby wonders when he's coming home We have to keep him happy, make sure he's not alone But his little brother Blackie has other playmates now He's healthy and he's happy and that comforts us somehow. We then discovered Rainbows Bridge, A happy place to go He's happy and he's healthy and that helps us to know We can visit him when we get up, each and everyday It's good to know our Blackie's just a mouse click away. His ashes in our living room are right beside my chair And in a frame a muddy print, a claw and bit of hair. That big old sookie furball left pawprints on our heart And even tho'it's not the same we'll never be apart. Love you always, Blackie Boy From Daddy, Mommy and Tabby XOXOXOXOXOXO
