K.C.
by Barry Leichtman
K.C., "our pound puppy" died today and with her she took a large piece of my heart. We all miss her so much already, and the house doesn't quite feel the same without her. She came into our lives 9 years ago when we found her in the pound. On the ride home from the pound, she put her head in my lap, we bonded immediatley, and she became "my shadow." I know in time this pain I feel will ease, but that is of little consolation right now. What helps is thinking of all the joy she provided over the years. The memories of her will never fade with time; they will always burn bright inside me. K.C., you have only been gone approximately 12 hours, but it seems like so much more. We all want you to know that we miss you & we love you very much. All the love we gave to you, you returned many times over. Thank you K.C. for a lifetime of memories and we hope you know that we did what we thought was best for you. It was very hard to do what we did today, but we did not want to see you suffer. We will spread your ashes with Spooner's by the park where the two of you enjoyed playing. I think the two of you would like that. We love you K.C., and thank you for spending your time on this earth with us. You will always be a part of this family.
